Which one is better-the
shower or the bath? It's an age-old question, and there's no
right answer. But when you're talking about political candidates,
that changes things considerably. Which one is right for you depends
on your opinions of the issues of our day-but it's pretty clear
which one is the shower here and which is the bath.
Here are a few reasons
why John McCain is a shower and Barack Obama is all bath...
|
|
|
Barack
Obama's romantic
First off, let's
admit it: Obama is romantic. He's got great looks and he's charismatic.
There's a bit of a romantic air to him, and everyone knows a bath is more romantic than a shower. Just add some scented oils and candles,
and you have an instant boudoir. Obama carries the romance with
him.

|
|
John McCain
is practical
McCain is a
no-nonsense kind of guy. He's the self proclaimed king of straight
talk, after all. A guy like this doesn't have time to daydream in
the bath. He just needs to wash up and get out. That's why McCain's
much more like a shower.
|
|
|
Barack Obama
is relaxed
You could imagine
kicking back and hanging out with Obama, right? He's got a very
relaxed screen presence-he's never in a hurry. He seems like the
kind of guy who probably relaxes in the bath with a glass of Merlot
after a difficult campaign speech or debate.
|
|
|
John McCain
is a man of action
John McCain
is known for sticking to a grueling schedule that often much younger
aides and journalists have trouble keeping up with. Between running
from fundraiser to fundraiser, town hall meeting to town hall meeting
and so on, John McCain doesn't have time for a bath. A shower is
quicker, easier and more economical.
|
|
|
Barack Obama
is bi-racial
Where else
do waters, oils, and soaps mix and combine into one warm, sweet-smelling
whole? The bath, of course! Obama comes from a healthy mix-a bath,
if you will-of influences and cultures. The shower isn't really
a place where different substances mix, but the bath is.
|
|
|
John McCain
is conservative
And maybe that means
he's conservative with water, too? It's common knowledge that showers use less water than baths do, and anyone who's wary of wasting water
will always opt for a shower over a bath.
|
|
|
Barack Obama
was born in Hawaii
And Hawaiians
are island people-they're surrounded by water and they love to swim.
It makes sense that Obama would feel more at home in the bath than
in the shower-he grew up in an environment where he was surrounded
by water.
|
|
|
John McCain
lives in Phoenix
And Phoenix
is a dry area. Chances are, he's used to conserving water because
of the conditions where he lives. It's likely McCain is much more
used to showers than to baths-probably short showers.
|
|
|
Barack Obama is "swimming" in cash
It's no secret
that Obama has done well in his fundraising efforts-he's raised
millions more than McCain so far. You might go so far as to say
he's swimming in a bathtub of cash. Although it would probably be
more cash than would fit in your average-sized bathroom.
|
|
So which
one will win the general election: The shower or the bath?
There's no way
to tell yet, and just like the age-old question of the shower or
the bath, there is no clear right answer for everybody. The difference
here is that you can enjoy both showers and baths; you don't have
to choose between the two-and the American public does have to choose
between Obama and McCain.
