Girls Guide to Showering
The Student 'Girl's Guide' to Good Grooming

A Uni gal may is very busy what with essays and a busy social life to maintain. If you are ready and raring to go on a much needed night on the tiles, don't forget the essentials to keep you looking fantastic and make you stand out amongst the crowd. Get ready boys, here you come!!

Step 1: Treat yourself to a Manicure.

Many girlies forget about the importance of beautiful nails, but it is important to that they look nicely presented as your nails can say a lot about you. If your nails are looking a bit worn after all that essay writing, treat yourself to a manicure. It doesn't have to be expensive it can be a D.I.Y treatment in-between lectures. If you are trying to attract male attention, having manicured hands is a great place to start.

Step 2: Shower!

Prepare early for your night out; don't just rush the showering stage. If you want extra silky skin, get rid of that dry skin by using good exfoliating products and scrub away that dead skin. Scented shower gel will leave a sweet smelling scent under that perfume. (Only if you let him get that near of course!)

Step 3: Shampoo and Condition.

Girls, as most of you are aware your hair is extremely important and can transform the way people perceive you. Whether you have lushes locks or a retro cropped style, look after it! To eliminate any embarrassing 'flakes' occurring when strutting your stuff on the dance floor, use a special anti-dandruff shampoo. If you use straightners continually a good 3 minute miracle conditioner could re-hydrate your burnt edges, giving it that needed moisture. Make sure you use a thermal protection spray to protect your hair from the high temperatures, preventing long term damage. If you look after your hair it will repay you. You will be able to run your fingers through it whilst fiercely flirting. Make sure you have no visible roots and your hair has had a trim in the last few months. There is nothing more off putting to potential hotties than dull lifeless hair with greasy roots.

Step 4: Shave, Shave Shave!!

The worst thing you can do when preparing for a night out is to shave those pins, as dry as a bone. Don't do it, those shaving spots are really not a good look. If you are going to wear a short skirt, make sure your legs are moisturized and they are as smooth as a babies bum. If you have a worn razor blade, replace it for a new one, the earlier the better. A used blade can give you unwanted scratches and scars. When shaving your legs use shaving foams which will allow the blade to run smoothly over the skins surface. Use a moisturizer to complete the process and give your skin a revitalized look.

Step 5: A Girly Glow is Key.

Carelessly slapping tan on minutes before you go out to the bar is big no no. Prepare to go out the day before by applying the tan after you have exfoliated the skin. Pay special attention to elbows and knees where dry skin can be a nuisance. Remember a light sun kissed tan is better than a heavy orange glow. Use gloves to ensure no streaks are accidentally smeared all over the palms of your hands, spoiling that manicure. Use a recommended tanning product; don't go for the inexpensive and then wonder why the tan isn't how you planned.

Step 6: Do a spot-check.

We all have been there girls…the huge zit right before the big night. Don't panic, if you have time use a good concealer to hide it away. If it is a re-occurring issue makes sure a good cleanser and toner is used weeks before, cleanse those pores and keep your face a spot free zone.

Step 7: Get rid of those rough heels.

Running around Uni attending classes can be tough on your feet; it is an hidden area many of us tend to forget. Rough dried skin on the heels of the feet can be a sight for sore heights, when wearing those killer heels. Use a foot scrub and file to get rid of those flakes. It is worth spending at least half an hour to look after them each week. A foot spa can be a good way to massage those aches and pains. After filing use a moisturizer to give a smooth sweet smelling finish.

Step 8: Wear deodorant and anti-perspirant.

If you are getting up close and personal with a desired dancing partner, the last thing you want is to be smelling of sweat. To control this apply a good roll on deodorant before going out and keep it handy all night in your clutch bag.

Step 9: Apply perfume lightly.

Perfume can either attract attention for the right reasons and can equally turn you into a bad talking point of the night. Perfume is important to make you feel feminine and attractive. A scent can be change the way a man feels towards you, if you use the right scent and amount. Using too much perfume can be overpowering and make the opposite sex feel intimidated. A man doesn't want to be choked to death when whispering in your ear, so apply lightly around the neck area. It is worth investing in a new desirable perfume, so make sure you get rid of that granny flower power perfume.

Step 10: Avoid Make Up Mishaps

Applying make up is the biggest downfall people can make when heading out on the town. Make up can really determine the girls from the ladies. Don't go overboard with the eye shadow and eyeliner, sometimes less is more. Apply foundation evenly not forgetting the neck which can be left looking rather pale. Invest in a long lasting lippy to make sure it lasts all night giving you an irresistible pout. If you really worry about the right way to apply make up, get yourself to a local store and ask advisors, this way you cannot go wrong.

If you want to be squeaky-clean and ready for a night out on the town, you'll need to put some effort into it. Guys like girls who notice the details. Show them that you pay attention to the way you look, and they'll pay attention to you. </b> </h4>
